I have had so much fun hosting the Southern Challenge last year,
That I thought why not include Southern Fiction my dear,
So, I pondered and thought oh why not because the South is so much fun,
There are so many great books to choose that it might be hard to choose just one!
I thought a good month to read Southern Ficktion might be September I do declare,
We can choose to read books, watch movies, or find a favorite Southern recipe to share.
There has been so many books that take place in the Carolinas, Georgia, and Tennessee,
"The Help", "The Dry Grass of August, and "Saving Cee-Cee".
I am looking forward to becoming a Southern Belle for at least 30 days y'all see,
What better way to spend a month but with some friends and a tall glass of Southern Sweet Tea.
So, put on your pearls, practice your wit, charm, and style,
Sit back with your wide brimmed hat and relax on the front porch awhile.
A month of Southern traditions, manners, and Southern romance,
I hope you decide to join me and take a Southern stance.
As with true Southern charm and hospitality,
I invite you to join me under the beautiful Magnolia tree.
Wiling away the hours just sipping on our cool iced tea,
And making new friends along the way from sea to shining sea.
If you are willing to join the challenge to be a Southern Belle,
Just choose a couple of books from Southern Fiction; do tell....
Then grab the Cupcakes War Challenge 2012 and on your site please post,
Tell others about this challenge and that Curling Up With a Good Book will be the host!
I hope I will be the hostess with the mostess and help y'all to become a Southern Belle no matter where you might live!! Of course, those from the south should be extremely helpful! If nothing else, we will be sure to have some laughs and some fun.
Some books that might be fun to look at prior to September are GRITS (Girls Raised in the South) by Deborah Ford, SWAG (Southern Women Aging Gracefully) by Melinda Rainey Thompson, The Southern Belle's Handbook by Loraine Despre, and A Southern Belle Primer by Marilyn Schwartz.
