I have always loved reading since I can remember! In fact, since I grew up in a neighborhood with lots of kids that always came by my house to play, in order to stay in and read, my parents would tell my friends that I had been punished!
I taught elementary school for 14 years and have spent the last 10 years working with my husband. Now that I have more personal free time I am able to read more throughout the year and not just in the summertime.
I have a Kindle, a Nook and an Ipad2 that I use to read books as well. Although I have these electronic readers, I still like my books better!

I was interested in reading this book because I had read Christopher West's Theology of the Body and participated in a course at my church. Just as Mr. West simplified the information from Pope John Paul's Theology of the Body so that most people could understand the content, I found this book written so it was easy to understand the information that he was conveying to us.
I agree with Christopher West as to the longing that everyone holds within their hearts. It is just realizing that we have these longings and doing something about it. We have a choice whether to follow the path that our media portrays daily to us; one of fulfilling all our needs of joy, pleasure, etc. no matter what or to choose to live like Jesus wanted us to and experience joy and pleasure in our lives without going to the excess. Life is precious and we should treat it with respect. We should live according to our intended design. If we set eternity as our final goal, our life gives us purpose and our life will be joyful with that destination in mind.
I highly recommend this book to everyone, however, especially to anyone that is struggling living as God wants in this secular world of ours.
I received this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group for this review.
